Cacheout! Find Out Slammed Pages

Cacheout! is a great extension with a very simple fonctionnality allowing to access articles throught caching service when the original source is not available. Especially for Digg.com and Slashdot.com users, how many times are you unable to access a particular article because the remote server has been slammed by the Digg/Slashdot Effect? Cacheout! lets you try to access articles through Google's caching service and CoralCDN.org.

The only problem with such extension remain in the caching service itself that is used. Usually websites down due to a Slashdotting or Digg are very new and so the cache service didn't update already with their content, so I'm wondering if they could use Digg for example to know links which might receive huge traffic and take a snapshot. duggmirror.com have similar service for Digg that try to detect new stories and make cache copies of them before it disapear, until people learn how to keep their websites alive for Digg or Slashdot effect.
